I love playing outside with kids. It’s a good way to get in sensory stimulation, cardio, and fresh air for myself and the children! I typically encourage creativity and physical activity when children are under my care. I try to learn what each individual child will like so they will be engaged.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being able to devote most of my attention to one or two children versus an entire classroom allows me to be more effective in getting to know a child and attend to their needs. Children are brand new to this world. Helping them navigate it is a challenge but it is extremely rewarding to know I’ve made a difference.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for many different children with different exceptionalities. My schooling and experience have provided me many opportunities to learn and grow within this population. Currently, I nanny a five year old with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
