Hello, my name is Kayla I have been caring for children for 18 years and doing it professionally for over 10 years. I love art, reading, hiking, baking, animals and making people laugh. I like to incorporate the things I enjoy in my work as a nanny. Having fun and learning through play is something I enjoy. Parents who follow the gentle parenting approach is the kind of family I work best with. I genuinely love children and it brings me joy to help care for children and their families.

I have been with my current employer for 5.5 years. I love and have cared for her three amazing children. The youngest is now going to preschool and I will be looking to start with a new family in September. I am looking for a long term family. I am currently in school working on a degree in psychology with a focus on childhood development. I would love to chat more with you to see if I would be a good fit for your family. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked ABA for a few months with one family before Covid. I have done 2-3 overnights a week with an infant suffering with colic for ten months. I worked in the gym babysitting room for the ymca ages ranging from 4 months to 12 years old. My most favorite of experiences I have gained was not paid but definitely an experience worth mentioning. I had the honor of helping my best friend care for her twins from two months - two years old. I spent almost everyday with them from the moment I left work into the night. Their father worked three jobs and she needed the support. I also helped create and keep a schedule, lighthouse keeping and running errands. It taught me how important it is to not only care for the children but to take care of the parents. It is a beautiful, challenging, exhausting and rewarding thing to raise a child. I am so grateful to be apart of that by nannying.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love the outdoors. I love going on walks. ( I have tons of games that keep children from getting bored on long walks) I also hike as much as my schedule allows so I definitely like to be able to take children on hikes. I try to stay outside as much as possible when nannying. I really enjoy art. I like to teach kids to use art as a way to express themselves and to just enjoy creating. I also like to find fun science experiments on Pinterest and YouTube and doing them with the kids I care for. I love going on day trips to the zoo, museums and library. I’m also the queen of finding free children’s events. I live showing babies new things and I enjoy watching them grow and learn. I write short stories and love to include nanny kids in my process of creating the story.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters to me about being a nanny is the connection with the children and the family as a whole. I love what I do because I get to not only help raise and nurture children but I get to be one more person that loves and cares for their well being. I get to be someone that parents can rely on to know their children are in the hands of someone who is willing to love, protect and teach them.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked with northeast behavioral for about 6 months doing ABA with a sweet 8 year old. Worked on potty training and following clinicians plan

The most important part about being a nanny...

My absolute favorite nanny moment has to be that my current nanny kids chase my car to the end of their yard and yell to me “ BFF’s forever” and I always have to beep for them. It makes me feel loved and reminds me that I’m doing a good job. After being with them for 5.5 years I think the last run is going to be a tough one.
