My name is Kaylee I am 17 years old. Growing up I have always been around children as I am an older sibling to 5. Overtime I have taught my younger siblings, cousins, family friends how to swim, read, ride a bike etc. I have also worked at an after school program where I worked with children between the ages 6-13 where I created arts and craft projects helped with homework and came up with many indoor and outdoor activities. I am also extremely good with babies and toddlers I’m aware of how to make bottles formula or breast milk change diapers give baths do hair help with constipation. Being a nanny is something I don’t take lightly it’s not about being harsh or stern. It’s about being outgoing and caring. One thing I will forever stand by being a nanny is being a great listener it’s not about me just simply “being right because I’m older” no matter what I will always listen to what the child wants even if I know what’s needed even if I already know how things are going to play out because being heard is something that is very important. For a simple example if a child doesn’t like having to eat a certain fruit or vegetable I would ask them why and if there are any other fruits or vegetables they like and I would explain why eating fruits and vegetables is important so we can come to a common understanding what they do and don’t like.
