I have volunteered with my club in highschool reading to elementary schools, and worked with unified sports/classes. While in the winter and summer, I help with softball camps for my old travel team.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to take them to the park, play games (roblox), watch a movie, color, and really anything they usually want to do. I just go with the flow of whatever keeps them having fun. Sometimes the younger girls like to do hair and makeup, or paint nails so I’ll join in on the fun too!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making it less like a job and more like an opportunity to gain experiences with children of various ages while creating a fun environment for them. Babysitting teaches me different skills I need for the real world while I get to bond with these kids and make a lasting impact on their lives. I care and treat parents kids the same way I would want someone to my own brother.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a younger brother who has down syndrome, so I help with that stuff. I have worked with unified sports like bowling and unified PE class with kids who have different special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I took kids with me to my dance concert while babysitting after getting the okay from their parents. When I got back, they gave me flowers and a gift card for being in the dance. It was very sweet of them and their parents to let me do that
