Hi! My name is Kayley, and I’m 18 years old. I’m the oldest of four siblings, so I’ve always been around kids and love helping out with younger ones. During my senior year of high school, I student-taught in a 1st–3rd grade special education classroom, which taught me a lot about patience, communication, and supporting kids with different needs.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children was my time student-teaching in a 1st–3rd grade special education class during my senior year, babysitting for family friends since I was about 11 years old, and helping care for my 4 younger siblings.

I love spending time outdoors playing games or going on walks. I also enjoy doing crafts, whether it’s painting, coloring, or simple DIY projects. I also enjoy helping with homework, reading together, and encouraging imagination through play.

My experience with special needs children...

Senior year, I volunteered in a small elementary school special needs classroom. I was part of their morning group where we went over daily schedules and sang songs together, often using sign language. I also often helped calm students when they became upset or overstimulated, taking them aside to help them regroup before rejoining the class.
