i worked at THE KIDS CORRAL in Dallas, Tx. I was a toddler 2's teacher for 2 years before i moved back to Tyler, Tx.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to include arts and crafts, outdoor play, walks, interactive games that keep the children active and learning into daily activities. i enjoy reading books together, helping with early learning skills such as numbers and letters. i like to create simple routines that include both playtime and quiet time such as story time or relaxing activities, to help children feel comfortable and balanced throughout the day. my goal is to make sure the children have fun while also learning and feeling safe.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was when a 2 year old in my toddler 2's class was starting to explore new words and show curiosity with the things and people around him. he was a pretty friendly boy who liked to play with a red truck. one morning he seemed shy and a little reserved. wasnt interested in playing with his red truck or the other kids. i suggested we go outside to look at nature treasures like the flowers and the leaves and the sticks. he hesitated for a minute but followed with his eyes and saw a red leaf floating to the ground. he pointed at it and said leaf. he did that with each new discovery, "flower" "bug" and learned some new words along with some new ones by the end of the nature adventure. by the end he was laughing, pointing things out, and practicing the new words he had learned with excitment. it was so rewarding to see him, explore and be happy to learn and feel proud of his discoveries.
