I've come across many unique situations while working with kids. Working in daycares has helped me learn to adapt. I once babysat a little boy who had the stomach flu. I helped clean up vomit and get him the proper medications to help with nausea.

I spend a lot of my free time doing art, so I love being able to use art for activities. I find it helps mentally stimulate better than tv and video games.

The most important part of being a nanny is making sure the kids know that they can be completely comfortable and honest about anything. For me, a big part of nannying is being able to develop a personal relationship and to have fun!
My experience with special needs children...
I have little experience with special needs children outside of relatives. I feel most comfortable/confident taking care of children with autism and down syndrome with instructions from their caretaker.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the kids in the daycare I worked at had one book that he would ask me to read him over and over again. It was his absolute favorite and I can recite the book from memory now! One time I sat with him and read the book over 15 times.
