A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Kelly. I first started babysitting when I was 14. From there, I began teaching dance lessons, and continue to teach dance and gymnastics to youth today. I began nannying once I graduated college and have experience with daily care as well as overnight, travel, and longer-term care (parents away for extended periods of time). When the pandemic hit, I wasn't able to teach sports so I was asked to work at one of the daycares on Fort Bliss. I was moved around a bit to help where needed, but spent a majority of my time with 3-5 year olds. I've nannied children from newborn to 10 years old and could work with teenagers but I prefer younger children. I also have experience with multiple special needs children, especially children on the autism spectrum. I am very passionate about helping children learn and grow through play, experience, and discussion, and would be honored to be a part of your child's journey through life.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at a daycare on Fort Bliss through the peak of the pandemic. I was in rooms with children between 18 months and 5 years old. I have experience with pre-school curriculums.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything outside! I love taking children to parks, community events, or even out for errands. In the house I love play time, reading, sensory experiments, and arts and crafts.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Adapting to each individual child's needs is very important to me. Each person learns, plays, and responds in a different way and it is important for that to be validated.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with children on the Autism Spectrum, ADHD, FAS, and a few with undiagnosed disabilities. I am passionate about figuring out how each child individually learns and reacts to their environment, and adapting to their needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Any time I see some of my kids and they come running and give me a hug. Knowing that I make a difference in children's lives and am a positive association makes me so happy.
