A little bit about me

Hello my name is Kelsey Eddy. I am 42 and a mom of 2 ages ( 6 and 11). Recently I just ended my school year working as a para educator 2( aide) in special Ed working with inclusion preschoolers, I primarily work with children on the spectrum or with special needs.

I have worked with children for over tens years ages ranging from infants to high school ages. My certifications currently are my “No child left behind” NCLB, first aid and CPR.

I am completely comfortable with diaper changing, light house work and cooking. I work in early childhood development and have past schooling and experience with light ASL.
My past experiences with children include one on one playing, singing, reading, redirecting, helping calm meltdowns, creating fun projects or play experiences to keep the child engaged.

My heart has always been working with children and would love to help a family who can feel at ease while I am with their babies. Hopefully I can help with your family soon.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Not only helping a family in need but also I know how heavy the load is not being able to be with your child(children) as much as needed. Filling that time for a parent and giving them the feeling of comfort and safety knowing their babies are in great hands with me. I want them to be able to work or have a date or even as simple (but not as simple) time to maybe take a nap or shower. I want to ease the stress from the parent all the while hoping to love and care and maybe create some beautiful moments for the child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with special needs for 10+ years in a classroom setting. I have also worked and did childcare in home with over 5 children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was when I had been working with a little girl (3yrs old) who was on the spectrum for 6 months. She was non verbal with minimal eye contact. I would sing to her what we were going to do because her special interest was music. One day she was having a hard day while I was walking her to the bathroom she was crying and so I started to sing to her to calm her down. She then pulled me to her level grabbed my face and looked me directly in the eyes and started singing with me. She stopped crying and started smiling. At that moment I knew we had a connection and she was showing me she felt safe.
