A little bit about me

I am a mother to a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old boy. I am also a registered nurse. I decided to stop working after my first son was born because I wanted to be home with him. I have decided to continue staying home with my children until they are both in school, at least. I am looking for a way to add to our income without having to be away from my children and without having to be occupied with desk work while taking care of them. I think having another child, or two, with us would be a great way to add to our income without compromising our current situation. There is something special about having your children in a happy, safe, and clean environment where they can play together and learn. I want to continue providing that for my children, and I would love to provide that for someone else's children who need that. I look forward to meeting new parents and children to see if our situations are a good fit.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

- I did a lot of babysitting elementary age children and volunteering in the nursery at my church in my teenage years.
- I worked as a CNA in my late teens/early twenties. As a CNA, I cared for a 9 month old and a 10 year old who was special needs.
-I worked as a registered nurse in public health for 2.5 years. I spent a lot of time vaccinating children during that time.
-I cared for my niece, who is 9 months older than my oldest son. I started when she was 3 months old and ended when she turned 4 years old. During that time-frame, I gave birth to two children and took care of the 3 of them together.
-Currently, I babysit a 3 year old for few hours per week for a friend. I am use to having several children in my care at one time.

Things that I love to do with children:
-Playing outside with the sand box, bubbles, scooters, bicycles, balls, etc.
-Playing inside with toys
-Coloring with crayons
-Using stamps and stickers to decorate paper
-Teaching ABC’s, shapes, colors, numbers, writing
-Going to the park
-Going to the library
-Going to play areas
-Going to museums and aquariums

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that it is important to accept and love children that are in my care. Children are so vulnerable and dependent on adults, and I consider it a privilege to be able to take care of them and show them how to be happy and enjoy their precious lives. I also think that maintaining your integrity when nobody is watching is the key to being a good caregiver.
