Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a teachers aid in multiple elementary school class rooms (pre-k, kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grade). I also worked in a daycare as the sole caretaker for up to 6 children between the ages of 6 months-12 years. Additionally, I nannied for a family with two young children between the ages of 2-5. I also have babysat for numerous years with a lot of that experience being with young infants.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy getting out and being active with the children I care. I love taking children for on hikes, to parks and gardens. I also love to incorporate crafts that spark their imagination like watercolors. I also enjoy taking children to local museums and libraries.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being able to create a stable and reliable, yet fun environment for the little ones I care for, where parents can feel at ease with the care their child is receiving is the most important part of being a nanny for me. I am very family oriented, so being able to provide help, support, and love to a family brings me great fulfillment.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not worked directly with special needs children. However, through many child development and child psychology courses I have taken, I feel prepared to work with children with special needs.
