More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at a school for children with autism back in Florida, where I assisted in group activities, reading time, and one-on-one support. I also helped raise my younger brother, which gave me a lot of hands-on experience with everything from feeding to tantrum duty. I’ve babysat for family and friends over the years, especially on weekends and evenings.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love anything that gets kids engaged and using their imagination, arts and crafts, story time, baking simple treats, outdoor games, and educational activities. I’m big on routines and structure but always make space for fun, creativity, and lots of laughter.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Creating a safe, stable, and loving environment where a child can feel seen, heard, and understood. Kids remember how you made them feel more than anything, and I take that responsibility seriously. Being a babysitter isn’t just about watching kids. Its about supporting their growth, joy, and well-being in every way I can.

My experience with special needs children...

I volunteered 2 different schools for children with autism, where I learned how to adapt communication styles, provide calm support during emotional moments, and create sensory-friendly play. That experience taught me a lot about patience, empathy, and meeting each child where they are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was helping a child I babysat make their first DIY picture book. We cut out magazines, glued in their drawings, and made up a whole silly story together. They were so proud, and it reminded me how meaningful the small moments are.

Taliyaha W. - Seeking Work in New Orleans

Babysitter Available in New Orleans, LA: Taliyaha W.

I’ve been working with kids since I was about 10 years old through my church, caring for children of all ages up until I was 16. That experience taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and being attentive to different personalities and needs. I helped with everything from keeping younger kids entertained and safe to assisting older kids with activities and routines.
Being around kids so much helped me develop strong communication skills and a calm, positive approach, even in stressful situations. It also taught me how to be dependable and trustworthy, since parents and leaders relied on me to help create a safe and supportive environment. Overall, it’s something that really shaped my ability to care for others, which also connects to why I’m pursuing nursing now.
