I’ve had experience working with children since I was about 10 years old. Starting in my church nursery and going with my sisters to help babysit their clients. As I got older I started babysitting on my own. That started at about 13. I would sit for families that were a part of my church or friends of friends. If anyone needed help with childcare I was the first person they would refer/call! At 17 I worked for a short time at a daycare and absolutely loved the job! Unfortunately I moved states so that ended faster than I had hoped. I am not yet CPR nor First Aid certified but I am more than willing to go take classes if that is what is required of me! I personally learned how to do CPR and First Aid by watching others and at times just being put on the spot without warning. Your child’s safety is all I am worried about when they are in my care. I am always prepared for the best and worst situations.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am absolutely obsessed with the park and anything nature! Screens? Don’t know them! Crafts are also a knack I enjoy with children. The best times in my childhood was when someone would take time out of their day to sit and teach me how to make a paper airplane or simply just how to draw a stick figure! I apply my wants and needs as a child to the child I am caring for!

Connection with the children I work with. If we don’t have a special relationship I tend to believe I am doing something wrong and will try everything I can to build that special connection so they know that they are safe in any environment they are in with me.

When I was working in the daycare I worked a Teachers Assistant. The Teacher had to step out for a few minutes and the kids ran to me asking if I would help them make cards for the teacher before she got back. On a time crunch we all decided to take part in just one card and one by one I helped each child write their name. When the teacher came back they said I had a special surprise for the teacher. Watching their faces when she opened the card was priceless. I will never forget the excited faces they all had when she was shocked they had finished all their names before she had even gotten back to the classroom. One memory I will never forget.
