More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Throughout my time at Western, I have been in a classroom almost every quarter, so I have lots of experience working with all ages and abilities. Some really eye-opening experiences I have had in my time of nannying are taking care of an 8-month old with Down Syndrome, working with a 9-year-old boy with autism, as well as working with a 13-year-old girl with Prader Willi Syndrome. I really enjoy every experience I am able to have and can't wait to continue my nannying.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking kids to the park or working with them on school work. I also enjoy reading and just letting the child use their imagination and playing along with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important thing is making sure the children are safe. Then making sure the children are having fun and are able to express themselves through their creativity. If parents give me the opportunity to help them learn, then I love doing that.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with students and children ranging from having developmental disabilities to physical/intellectual disabilities. Childcare wise I have worked with children with Down Syndrome, Prader Willi Syndrome, and Autism.
