A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Kennedy! I'm a recent college graduate. I've been working with children for 13 years, ranging from newborn to 13. In the past, I've done my community service with special needs students. And have to say, how much I loved every experience and child! If I'm not spending time babysitting, you can either find me being active outside or being productive. I'm a loving, funny, and always smiling type of person! Always willing to help out anyone at any time.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have relevant experience caring for children through various roles, for about 10 years, where I worked with children under the age of six until the age of 13. My time spent with children with special needs was particularly rewarding, as I focused on providing one-on-one support, either as a teacher's assistant or assigned to a specific child. Additionally, I gained valuable experience working at a daycare and a summer camp, where I helped create a safe and engaging environment for young children. These experiences allowed me to develop strong communication and caregiving skills while fostering a nurturing environment for the children I worked with.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging in a variety of activities with children that are both fun and educational. Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, where we can get creative and explore different materials, and outdoor activities like playing games, going on nature walks, or having fun with sports. I also enjoy reading stories.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with both the child and their family. It’s about creating a safe and caring environment where the child feels happy, loved, and listened to. A nanny isn’t just there to take care of basic needs, but also to help the child grow emotionally and socially. It’s important to be patient, flexible, and understanding because every child is different. You also need to work closely with the family to make sure everyone is on the same page and the child is getting the best care possible. Ultimately, being a nanny is about supporting the child and family, and making sure the child feels confident and safe.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had the opportunity to work closely with children who have a variety of needs, offering personalized support in different settings, such as in a classroom as a teacher’s assistant or one-on-one with specific children.I learned to be patient, flexible, and compassionate, while also finding creative ways to adapt to each child's unique needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when a young child I was caring for had a rough day and was feeling upset. After a little while, we sat down together and proceeded on homework, and slowly, they began to open up about what had been bothering them. We talked through their feelings, and towards the end of us completing the homework, they were back to their feel-good-self.
