Hi My name is Keshawna, I am a 23 year old graduate, I have worked with children for years, and have more than several years of experience with working with kids. I am the oldest of 5 and have helped take care of my siblings. I have also volunteered at boys/girls club. I worked as a teacher assistant for a year and worked as a Lead teacher at a Pre-School for 2 years working with children from 0-2 years old. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a Lead Teacher at a pre school, ( I worked at Wee School) for 2 years. I was a Teacher Assistant for a year, I volunteered with the boys/girls club for years throughout the summer of high school. I helped take care and look after my siblings and other family member and friends children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe certain activities are best for certain age groups, that although a toddler or an infant wouldn't be able to do certain physical activities as children older than them, it doesn't mean it still can't be fun and learning for them as well! I like to include the 5 senses in the activities. For example touch and sight, could be used by taking whip cream or shaving cream ( I prefer whip cream since most will of course use their taste to explore with as well lol) taking the cream and using certain food coloring and showing the different colors that can be made and mixed together. It'll show not only the difference in the texture but also uses a simple way to bring an introduction to colors as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me the most important part about being a nanny is being very open communicative and honest having a level of trust and respect with the parents and not just with the parents but with the child as well. It's important that the child trusts you as well, and can feel safe with you. You will have such a level of dependence and responsibility on your hands, and it's important to maintain that and keep that up. I always keep in mind that I am taking care of the most important being to the parents/loved ones, and it's important that I treat it as such and know that it truly is an honor that that the parents trust me and feel safe and sure with me to take care and handle their little ones.

The most important part about being a nanny...

So many moments are so precious to me, but the most would be the growth of the children. To see how quick they grow and develop from an infant to a toddler. Toddlers years although difficult are some of the most precious and interesting years to the child growing up. They have the most funny personalities, you really see their personalities begin to come through and you see them become so independent an yet so dependent at the same time, but in such a different way from them being infants, its really just a showing of the start of whats yet to become.
