More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

There has been many times where I’ve cared for children. I raised many of them (in my family, or assisting a friend). As stated previously, I am currently getting my degree in Early Childhood Education/Development (becoming an elementary school teacher) so working with children has been in my life since I was a child. Even as a high schooler, I’d always volunteer to go to a elementary school to read to children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I take time to get to know the child. See what they find fun and interesting. As this generation, kids like to play game and go on their phone and kind of just be in their own bubble. I would like to get the kids out more, either going outside and enjoying the sun, or taking a fun bus ride around the town to get their eyes and head off their devices. But, for the most part, I’ll just learn what kids like and go from there to make sure they’re actually enjoying themselves and not just doing whatever I find interesting and fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being there for the kids. It’s easy finding a nanny, but it is hard finding one who isn’t all in it for the money and actually wants to support and love the children as if they were they’re own (or as if they were they’re younger siblings).

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience taking care of children with ADHD, & Social anxiety. (I am both of those myself so I have plenty experience and understanding for the child). I am willing to watch those children and learn about them, but I personal don’t have any experience with those children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when a child desperately needed someone to talk to and didn’t feel comfortable going to a parent but felt comfortable coming to me.
As a person with anxiety and fear of rejection, I tend to overthink situations and not know who to turn to and talk to when something is hurting me.
This child was 12 years old and didn’t understand why they were feeling uncomfortably sad and upset about nothing. They were also being bullied which is what brought them to me. They had they’re own cellphone, and I gave them my number (& email) incase something was to happen and they needed someone to talk to, the child reached out to me and confined in me about all the things happening and I supported them and have them the best advice I had. (I did contact the parents as I was afraid the child was in danger of self harming themselves.
