A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Kiana Butler, I’m 18 and I always have fun enjoying fantasy books and drawing/coloring; as well as sharing these hobbies with the kiddos I work with! I believe in gentle care for children, they all deserve patience and respect as little humans. But that doesn’t mean I can’t lay down the iron palm and set the example for boundaries and certain responsibilities they may need to fulfill like homework, chores, disciplinary action etc.

I’m able to do housework, and I’m also handy with tools and problems that might require more physical labor! Along with cooking, I’m an exceptional baker who loves to make treats and meals for those I care for!

Animal care is included, but for certain instances negotiation towards animal care may have to be quoted. I talk with all families about their furr babies before proper handling.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked with children as young as 8 months to high schoolers! I worked as a Physical Education Teacher for kindergarteners with special needs, all the way up to 6th graders who are all rebellious and need a slight push to get them to participate! I’ve seen it all, A
as well as tutoring high school students!

Im CPR Certified, I took a Sports Medicine class for a year in high school and learned may different ways to care for physical wounds, choking, heart attacks, seizures.

My first baby sitting job was for a reoccurring family where I watched an 8 month old and a 3 year old for 6 months! I did all household/childcare responsibilities from 8 am - 5 pm.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor: Lego building, puzzles, Just Dance game, Arts and Crafts, making pillow forts etc.

Outdoor: Soccer, chalk drawing, going on bike rides to the park! Etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is being able to let the kids teach me just as much as I teach them. I find myself learning new things and gaining patience from understanding and respecting these little people!

My experience with special needs children...

I was a physical education teacher for kids with special needs ages 5-6 for 1 year in a program called CAPET in high school.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I made breakfast for the first family I ever babysat for, I made pancakes, bacon, and eggs and both kids finished their food. It made me feel proud of them for eating everything, it had been a past struggle for getting them to eat. So simple yet was engraved in my mind as their biggest accomplishment! Made me so happy.
