Im CPR Certified, I took a Sports Medicine class for a year in high school and learned many different ways to care for physical wounds, choking, heart attacks, seizures.
My first baby sitting job was for a reoccurring family where I watched an 8 month old and a 3 year old for 6 months! I did all household/childcare responsibilities.
I am also a Certified Peer Support Specialist working with young adults ages 16-25 mainly centering around getting them the support they need to overcome mental health challenges. This comes with the training to deescalate tense situations and comfort those in need of emotional support. As well as teaching independent living skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny to me is being able to let the kids teach me just as much as I teach them. I find myself learning new things and gaining patience from understanding and respecting these little people!
My experience with special needs children...
I was a physical education teacher for kids with special needs ages 5-6 for 1 year in a program called CAPET in high school. This program centered around getting kids with developmental challenges the opportunity to expand their understanding of how physical activity can be both fun and educational.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I made breakfast for the first family I ever babysat for, I made pancakes, bacon, and eggs and both kids finished their food for the first time. It made me feel proud of them for eating everything, it had been a past struggle for getting them to eat. So, simple yet was engraved in my mind as their biggest accomplishment! Made me so happy. And the trust I built with the kids and parents made it all the more fulfilling.
