I have been babysitting for almost 9 years now for kids ages 3 months - 10 years old. The family I mostly babysit are ages 2 and 5. The most kids I have babysat at a time were 3 kids, ages 1-7.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy arts and crafts, dress up, music, baking, dancing, watching disney movies, and any type of game they want to play.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is making sure the child is comfortable, cared for, and having fun. The child needs to be able to have fun and feel comfortable around the nanny or it won't be fun for either of them. Being a nanny is about making sure the kids are having a good time, but also making sure they aren't in any type of danger and making sure they are completely and 100% cared for.
My experience with special needs children...
For three years in a row, I have been involved in Night to Shine. Night to Shine is a Tim Tebow sponsored event that happens all over the world. It is a prom for people with special needs with people as young as 13 to people as old as 65+. I volunteer every year as an escort for the "honored guest." They weren't children, but they still required the same needs as other children with special needs. The last three people I escorted ranged from 15-20. It's one of my few favorite events of the year, and I am open to caring for any children with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
This isn't a "nanny moment," but a "babysitter moment." Two girls I frequently babysit absolutely love the Descendants and Frozen series. I've watched them on repeat with them and every time a musical number comes up we all get up dance and sing our hearts out. It's on of their favorite things to do. They love showing off for me.
