I am a recent empty Nester who has successfully raised 4 boys as a single mom, one of whom is on the spectrum with Pervasive Developmental Disorder. They are all now grown and have their own children. I work full time during the day but since I live alone with my pup and life is expensive I am looking for people that need some help from time to time. Mommys and Daddys need time outs too. Prefer to come to your home where the children will be comfortable especially when meeting a new caregiver. I absolutely love all animals so pets are no problem and I can babysit them as well. Tidying up, or need help with laudry? no problem and included in the hourly fee.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have successfully raised 4 boys that are now grown with their own children. They have all lived with me on and off when they needed to return home with their littles in tow. I am for the first time in my life childless. I have a ton of experience with all types of children including those with special needs and behavioral and medical needs. I have worked for Head Start in the past and I have letters of recommendations and certifications for preschool aged children. My own son has Pervasive Developmental Disorder and Tourettes syndrome so I understand the challenges for parents that have children with special needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love incorporating play into learning activities and I'm not afraid to let them get messy. Painting coloring and mud pies are great for finger dexterity. Music is always part of our day whether it's the clean up song or lullabyes for sleep it's incorporated into most activities for language development, signalling activity changes etc. I'm not a rockstar and I won't be on American Idol but I promise my voice won't be so bad as to hurt anyone's ears. I've also been known to throw a few tea parties and invite little princesses and their bears or toss a few water balloons at the platoons hiding in play equipment.
