I have babysat for my siblings, cousins, & family friends every summer basically since I was in middle school. I got my first real job that wasn’t babysitting in high school at Happy Joes Pizza during the school year but decided to take the summer off the year after to continue babysitting for my mom. After graduating high school, my mom and dad got divorced and it was even harder on my mom to receive child care as she was working two jobs so I decided to quit my job at the time at a factory to watch my two siblings that summer so my mom would save money on child care.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love all outdoor activities as I am always enjoying nice weather but indoors I love to read, color, paint, draw, teach, & create with kids. My siblings & I love to play board games, paint canvas art, make bracelets, read books, watch older disney movies & snack on popcorn, have living dance parties on rainy days, but our most favorite is cooking meals together.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Kids watch everything you do and if they look up to you, they WILL do everything you do. I learned very fast that monkey see monkey do isn’t just a dumb saying but that it holds a lot of truth to it as well. The most important thing as a nanny is to be aware of everything, be aware of the things you do and say, make sure to lead an incredible example. The child/children you’re babysitting should be positively impacted by you every single day.

With every child i’ve interacted with, my favorite part about being a nanny/sitter is seeing them with all their crazy, fun, spunky energy that you can’t seem to tire out no matter how hard you try, transforming into their outgoing, creative, extraordinary personalities as they grow every year into a young adult.
