Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a group leader at an after school program supervising elementary school kids. I also have baby sat and nannied for a few family friends for years. I also have an 11 year old brother who no longer needs an actual babysitter but "hangs out" with his sister all the time when mom is away.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Drawing and building legos are both things that are a hit with almost all age groups, not to mention I can have fun too! other than that I love taking kids out to explore outside (mostly only when it's warm!)
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is building a connection to the kids AND parents, so all of us can make sure the children are getting the best individualized care possible.
My experience with special needs children...
I have very limited experience caring for special needs children, there were a few special needs children in the after school program I worked at, although I never cared for them without the assistance of a more experienced coworker. Although I lack experience, I am more than willing to take the time to learn if you have the time to teach me.
