A little bit about me

I have over 5 years of childcare experience, including professional nannying for families with children ranging from newborns to teenagers. My experience includes infant care, toddler development, early learning activities, school support, and working with children with autism and cerebral palsy.

I'm currently pursuing a degree in Positive Psychology at Arizona State University, which has further strengthened my interest in child development and understanding individual needs. I'm nurturing, patient, dependable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy building meaningful relationships with the children and families I work with.

Beyond childcare, I'm experienced with household tasks, family assistance, travel with families, and pet care. I also have a household management certification through Sage Haus. I'm happy to be a supportive, reliable presence for the entire family, not just the children!

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy planning creative, hands-on activities that encourage curiosity, learning, and imagination. Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, baking, reading, outdoor adventures, nature walks, sensory play, puzzles, games, and age-appropriate learning activities. I also love getting children involved in everyday activities and finding fun ways to explore their interests, build new skills, and encourage independence.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel seen, heard, valued, and free to be themselves. Building trust and meaningful relationships with children and their families is at the heart of good caregiving. I believe children thrive when they feel secure, understood, and encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with special needs, including children with autism and cerebral palsy. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, understanding, flexibility, and adapting my caregiving approach to each child's individual needs. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child feels comfortable, valued, and encouraged to develop at their own pace. I understand that every child is different and enjoy getting to know their unique personality, strengths, and interests.

Emma-Leigh H. - Seeking Work in Surprise

Babysitter Available in Surprise, AZ: Emma-Leigh H.

Hi! My name is Emma-Leigh, and I’m a nursing student with a goal of becoming a pediatric nurse. I’ve always loved working with children and helping them feel safe, comfortable, and understood. I previously worked as a behavior therapist with children with autism, providing one-on-one support and helping them work toward their individual goals. That experience taught me a lot about patience, communication, staying calm, and understanding that every child is different.
As a future nurse, I’m responsible, caring, and very safety-conscious. I understand how important it is for parents to feel comfortable and confident in the person caring for their child. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your family, keep your little ones safe and entertained, and give you peace of mind while you’re away!
