I am energetic, interactive and experienced with children for about 40yrs(I started working at sports camps as a teen). I'm trained in family/child anger management & special needs. I am culturally diverse. Two languages in my household growing up, I learned a third. I accept all religions. I lived in French Quarters with diverse preferences. I am quietly religious; it is not displayed. Experienced with informal teaching. Emotionally intelligent and calm in stressful/emergency situations and good with de-escalation. Highly energetic/athletic. Trustworthy and fiducial in work experience. One comment, I'm not experienced in gaming. The last time I gamed was with Ninendo Mario Brothers and Atari in the 80s.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I think all "kid experience" is relevant to kid-care. It expands the creativity needed to be sensitive to the needs of the moment. Children's Ministry Leader. YMCA. 4H. Dance Instructor. School Bus Driver. Private young adult care for special needs. Youth Concert Host & Coordinator. Camp Counselor.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Casual story time over daily activities. I enjoy asking questions, trivia, hobbies, interests, etc. to invoke thought, executive function and imagination. I am extremely patient. (One young adult I cared for (weekly, 5 years) had the same conversation for 2 hours, every time. I treated it as if it was all new to me & maintained my interest.) Physical activities, although my training is ballet, ballroom and square dancing, I played many sports. I'm brave in trying new things but not reckless. (I don't horseback ride anymore.) I enjoy many activities with children: walking, hiking, biking, crafting, painting, reading, card & board games, teaching, cooking, etc. I raised a Marine son Who's an Executive Chef & a daughter who's a Director of a cyber security company. I relate very well with boys/girls/others.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel I have so much to offer back to our community through children. I possess so many various experiences with children & I love them. One of my student's parent called me very gifted with connecting and teaching. I fully embraced that compliment, and others, because my motivation is care, integrity and safety.

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up with a family friend with special needs since I was 12. I was trained very well to care for this friend. I also have 8+ years training in special needs for several school districts. I am also certified as an Instructor to teach on special needs. I am calming and have connected well with non verbal students. I worked with wheel chairs also.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This hard because there are so many. My children and I lived on a hillside. I could see a heavy rain storm coming across the farmer's field. I asked my children if they want a shower outside. I often had something fun up my sleeve so they curiously agreed. We stood on the hill and could see the down pour coming. Just before we were "hit" I turned to see their faces. I will never forget their open mouths as they laughed and eyes-squeezed faces. It was like being sprayed with a hose. We had the best laughs! I believe, however, most memorable to them were my campfire stores (they are not scary).
