I have nannied for many children in my past. From newborns to grade schoolers to children with special needs. I cook, clean, bathe, and also help children with any school work that they may bring home. I have enjoyed helping families with their children when they have to work or run errands. I try to engage minds and help with emotions when necessary. When I put them to bed, I like to read stories to put them at ease. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to color with children not only for fun but to also help with dexterity. I have an exciting personality so playing make believe, play at the parks, go for walks and talk about any plants, animals, cars, and anything else that might catch their eye! I’m one to also help children express their emotions and feelings, while also helping them understand their actions can affect other people’s feelings as well.
I love to read and make the characters come alive! I also am able to help little ones with prayers if needed in their lives. I love animals and have the ability to care for them as well. There is so much more, but my mind can’t seem to articulate what they are!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I find that making sure the parents feel at ease about all their points they make. If it’s homework done at a specific time or the types of food for snacks/meals, everything that is said, I make sure that it’s done. But I also want to make connections with the children. Both of the things I said about keeping parents minds at ease and connecting with the kids are equally important!

My experience with special needs children...

I was a nanny for a 7year old with cerebral palsy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There was a time I was caring for two girls. One being 6, and the other 8. We always had Sunday dinners with their whole family, and one Sunday we chose to put on a show for them! We had costume changes, we wrote lines for the show as well as had music and props! Before we all sat down for dinner, we made sure that we had a great dress rehearsal. The girls were confident in themselves and they assigned the role of narrator to me! The family just loved the effort the girls had gone to and they were so impressed with the quality of the show! There was laughter, and so much clapping that the girls were so happy the family had all enjoyed the labors of their love so very much!
