Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I did custodial and maintenance duties in my hometowns elementary school during the summer! I often ate with, read to, or played with the littles that went to summer school; including the ones in special needs!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’m open to any activities with littles no matter if it’s outside or inside. I love watching movies, playing with their toys, running around playing tag or hide and seek. I also enjoy doing calm and engaging activities like reading or going on walks.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Unfortunately, I was someone who grew up with parents working all the time, and having to have babysitters and nannies. Though children love when their parents are around, having other people to help take care of a child and share their own experiences is important too. I’ve been able to hear about different kids’ lives and daily hobbies, habits, whereabouts, memories etc.. I get to soak those in and help them gain more experience or help them out with issues they may be having. All I want is to see children grow up into amazing people.
My experience with special needs children...
I haven’t been around many, but I do have a summer experience with a little boy who had Down syndrome. Lorenzo was such a sweet boy and I enjoyed playing along with him and following him to all of his random whereabouts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have too many to choose, but I can narrow it down to reoccurring moments. It always melts my heart when I’ve been told by the littles or parents that I have been a role model. I realize that they do watch and listen to the people that they are around and care about. I can’t be more honored when I have this experience.
