A little bit about me

I began nannying in 2020 during the pandemic, supporting two families in a nanny share. In 2022, I moved into another nanny share role, further developing my skills in childcare and household management. By 2024, I opened my own in‑home daycare, which allowed me to be home while creating a structured, nurturing environment for multiple children. Running my program gave me invaluable experience in curriculum planning, compliance, and balancing warmth with consistency. Now, I’m excited to return to nannying with greater knowledge and skills. I’m an outgoing, adventure‑loving caregiver who thrives outdoors — from hiking and sports to all things water. My background includes ballroom and Latin dance instruction, water safety teaching for ages 3 months to 9 years, and my first job as a lifeguard and water aerobics teacher. These experiences shaped me into a well‑rounded professional who brings energy, creativity, and structure to every family I support.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I joined a nanny share supporting two families during the pandemic. That role taught me how to balance multiple routines, foster developmental growth, and provide stability in uncertain times. In 2022, I transitioned into another nanny share, further strengthening my skills in communication, household management, and early learning support. By 2024, I opened my own licensed in‑home daycare, caring for up to eight children daily. Running my program gave me full‑charge responsibility for curriculum planning, compliance, meal preparation, and milestone tracking, while creating a nurturing environment where children thrived. Alongside childcare, I taught water safety to ages 3 months through 9 years, worked as a ballroom and Latin dance instructor, and began my career as a lifeguard and water aerobics teacher. These experiences shaped me into an outgoing, adventurous caregiver who brings energy, structure, and creativity to every family I support.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating opportunities for children to explore the world around them. Whether it’s taking nature walks, going on hikes, or spending time swimming, I believe outdoor experiences help children build confidence, curiosity, and resilience. Getting out of the house and into fresh air allows kids to move their bodies, discover new environments, and connect with nature in meaningful ways.

I enjoy planning adventures that balance fun with learning — stopping to notice plants and animals on a trail, practicing water safety while swimming, or simply exploring a new park together. These activities encourage children to ask questions, share discoveries, and develop a love for the outdoors. My goal is always to make exploration feel exciting, safe, and enriching, so children grow up seeing the world as a place full of possibilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is your approach. Every caregiver has a style, and it deeply influences the child and family you work with. My approach is rooted in understanding, patience, and communication, guided by the principles of RIE. I want to help raise children who are emotionally aware, knowing there is never a one‑size‑fits‑all solution. Emotions are complex, and even harder when it’s a child’s first time experiencing them. I don’t see outbursts or tantrums as behavior to be redirected or stopped, but as feelings asking to be heard, seen, validated, and talked about. By holding space for those emotions, I help children learn resilience, self‑awareness, and trust, while supporting families with a calm, respectful presence.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs care began with an autistic girl I supported from 3 months old until age three. I was the one who first recommended testing when I noticed early signs, and I remained by her side through speech and ABA therapy. I’ve also cared for children with stutters, severe allergies, and genetic conditions that affect growth, development, and eating habits. In each case, I’ve learned to adapt routines, create safe environments, and collaborate closely with parents and therapists. I show up with empathy, attentiveness, and a strengths‑based mindset, helping children feel secure while encouraging independence, curiosity, and joy. Families can rely on me to bring both professional knowledge and heartfelt care, meeting each child exactly where they are and supporting them as they thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when M got up and walked over to C for the first time un-prompted to give her a huge hug. Then every morning after that when C arrived M would run to the front door to greet C with extreme excitement.
Or when C spends the first hour everyday cycling through every book on the book shelf for me to read each one over and over until she has had her fill.
