My name is Kyra Costabile, and I am currently a sophomore at Illinois State University studying Elementary Education. I have a wide range of experience working with children and families in different settings. I worked as an assistant in the Little Patriots program at Stevenson High School, where I supported children during morning and after-school care by helping with activities, supervision, and daily routines. I also worked as a camp counselor at Camp Apachi, where I led activities, went on field trips, and supported children through arts, games, and group experiences. In addition, I worked as a server at a country club where I frequently interacted with families and children, providing friendly and attentive service in a fast-paced environment. Outside of work, I also babysit regularly, and during high school I worked closely with a family of three special education children whom I deeply cared for and supported.

My experience with special needs children...

During high school, I worked in a special education classroom where I supported students with their learning by assisting with instruction, activities, and daily classroom routines. I also served as a physical education leader for special education students, helping them participate in PE activities, encouraging inclusion, and adapting games to meet individual needs. In addition, I regularly babysat three children with special needs, where I provided one-on-one care, supported their daily routines, and helped create a safe and structured environment.
