My name is Lucianna, and I am so excited to get to know you! I am starting my freshman year of college as a Special Education major at Grand Valley State University, and am very excited for my college journey! I am CPR/AED/First Aid/BVM and lifeguard certified, and have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for the past three years, as well as a waitress and country club attendant part time. I have worked with special needs children throughout high school with varying levels of disabilities and needs, and also worked in my church children's nursery for two years, working with children ranging from toddlers to pre-k. I am willing to work with any age group or disability, and can work on weekdays and weekends. My school schedule is very flexible, and I am willing to work with you too!
In my spare time I enjoy crafting, spending time with friends, working out, and I also run a small business selling gameday buttons!!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a swim instructor, teaching young children the fundamentals of swimming and water safety, with ages ranging from toddlers to young adult. I created fun and engaging lesson plans for the students, and worked with parents providing skill-based feedback for where improvement could be had. I also worked in the children's nursery at Devon Air Community Church for two years [phone number hidden]). I worked with our youngest age groups in the youth group (toddler-preK), and ran the classroom by myself. I set up crafts and other activities,, helped with their bathroom needs, and worked with parents to ensure the child's needs were met while they in service.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything outdoors! Going for walks, biking, going swimming, playing with chalk, or going to the park! I also love doing creative arts and crafts, and coming up with projects that the kids like completing.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for all levels on disability, ranging from verbal and high functioning, to nonverbal and low functioning. I was an intern at Livonia Churchill High School my senior year where we offer ASD, resource room, and center programs, all in which I was a teachers assistant and classroom helper. I worked one on one with students to help execute lesson plans, help with their classwork, and assist with any other educational/behavioral needs they may have. I also played a key role in Churchill's Special Olympic sports teams and Unified Club. I organized practices during our P.E. class, helped run drills and set up plays, and helped to put together the gym for our basketball games. During the games, I helped to assist the players with dribbling, passing, and shooting, while making sure the plays were running smoothly.
