The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most meaningful parts of babysitting for me has been building connections with children and becoming someone they feel safe and comfortable around. Seeing a child grow more confident, open up, learn new things, and get excited to see me is incredibly rewarding. I’ve learned that sometimes it’s the smallest moments, like comforting a child when they’re upset, helping them overcome something they’re struggling with, or simply making them smile after a difficult day, that make the biggest difference. Those experiences have reminded me why I love working with children and have encouraged me to pursue my future goal of becoming a pediatric nurse.
My experience with special needs children...
Along with my four years of babysitting experience, I also volunteered in high school, helping and working with children. I also have personal experience being around and caring for children with special needs, including my nephew, who is autistic. I’ve learned the importance of patience, understanding, flexibility, and recognizing that every child has their own unique needs, personality, and way of communicating.
