I am currently a paraprofessional for elementary school students; this is my 4th year. I have 4+ years experience working with infants and preschool aged children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I've enjoyed doing many activities with children of all ages at the centers I worked at.
For younger children under the age of 15 months we would have tummy time with toys (build gross motor skills), sensory bins (build fine motor skills), crawling obstacles, mirror play, foam blocks, musical toys, stroller nature walks, grass exploration, bubbles, water bins with sponges, etc.
For older preschool children we would build marble tube obstacles, play freeze dance, finger painting, chalk, playground access, sensory bins, interactive storytelling, etc.

The most important part of caring for children is creating a warm, safe, and trusting environment. I always try my bet to ensure that the child I'm caring for is comfortable, feels loved and heard, and trusts that I can keep them safe.

My favorite teacher moment with one of my students was the day they went to the potty all by themselves after weeks of training and accidents. They said "Ms. Lach, look! I went potty all by myself!"
