The most important part about being a nanny...

I use to work as a nanny for a 3yr old, little boy who had autism & was non verbal he had never spoken a word before. I wasn’t asked to do anything by the parents except make sure he was fed, changed & took daily naps. Instead I not only did what I was asked by the parents but I went above and beyond because I was determined I taught him my hardest everyday with, flash cards, learning videos, learning games, sensory activities. However I was 6 months in when he finally said his first word(s) & 2 month(s) later he knew his colors & is now working on finishing full sentences. His mom told me with a face full of tears, how thankful she was of me, as she also followed up with, how I had no idea I changed hers & her son’s life forever. I will never forget that day. Doing this type of work is a very passionate industry, you have to truly have love for the children in your care & genuinely want to see them grow and do better as they reach new achievements in their lives.
