I have experience in working with children at an elementary school, and making sure they are fed, napped, changed, and are ready for dismissal! I’ve also had personal experience, for extended family, friends, and teachers.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to dance, draw, listen to music, try new foods, making bracelets (or any arts and crafts for that matter), tutoring, makeup, dress up, sing and so much more!
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve cared for students aged 4-9 with learning disabilities, this includes but is not limited to; Autism, intellectual disabilities, sensory processing disorders, ADHD, and anxiety or PTSD-related disorders. But in my opinion, I don’t see these as disabilities, I see them as superpowers. Every child has their own way of thinking, feeling, and moving through the world, and I love getting to know what makes them unique. As a babysitter, it’s so special to support their strengths and help them feel confident just being themselves.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when one of my preschool kiddies, who was more on the reserved & quiet side, had an accident in class and was so incredibly shamed. I cleaned her up and made sure she knew that it’s okay and it happened to the best of us, and it doesn’t make her “gross”. She walked back in the classroom with radiant energy and I got so emotional, because I seen myself in her, because once upon a time I was in her same shoes.
