A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Lara Tarleton. I Graduated from high school in 2022 and decided to take a gap year before starting college. During that gap year, I participated in 2 accelerated nursing programs, LNA (licensed nursing assistant) and LPN (licensed practitioner nurse). I then worked with both of those licenses for almost a year before coming to Keene State College to major in Psychology. Over this past year that I have been in college, I have come to realize that Psychology is not what I want to do. I always had a passion for hair and skin care, which pushes me towards going to Cosmetology School located right in Keene. I have a program that begins in March of 2025, and I am looking for a family who can accommodate my hours. Cosmetology school is 9-4 Monday-Friday, meaning I could come to watch your little ones at 430pm every day and stay as late as needed. I am also available all day Saturday and Sunday. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

When I first started college, i was a nanny for about 7 months for this wonderful family in Keene. They have 2 kids, 2 and 4, and the kids were fantastic. I was honored to work with them so much. The family then came into a financial struggle, which they then led me to choose between working for free and leaving. I have bills to pay and I do have to support myself so that wasn't an option for me. I still go visit and hang out; however, on top of being a full-time student, I am also a full-time LNA. I plan to stop nursing when I start hair school due to the lack of accommodation this facility has to offer for me.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading to children, doing arts and crafts, playing with them outside, and swimming! I also think its important to help initiate cleaning up after themselves whether that's with toys and laundry, or dishes

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is understanding that I am responsible for anything and everything that happens (good and bad) while the kids are under my watch. It is important for me to help them learn and gain important skills as they grow.
