I've worked in preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade classrooms as a teacher's aide. For the past year I've had spontaneous babysitting gigs for my neighbor who has a 4 year old boy. During August 2021 until January 2022, I nannied for a family with 4 girls; the youngest being disabled and needed a feeding tube. They were between the ages of 3-12; I helped them with homework, cleaned around the house, kept them entertained, and made sure they got their chores done. During summer of 2022, I babysat a 10 year old boy while his mom worked. I also watched him overnight for 3 days over the weekend around the same time of the year.

My experience with special needs children...
I've cared for a 3 year old girl who was born with her knees backwards. She required a feeding tube and was often at risk for choking/falling. I volunteered during summer of 2022 for the special ed summer school program at Merced High. I met about 15 students with special needs and was able to form good bonds with them. I especially bonded with a sweet girl who was nonverbal and prone to tantrums.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Three girls that I nannied and myself went for a walk in search of pretty autumn leaves and ended up playing hide and seek. We were running and laughing, they were reluctant to say bye when their parents got home. It was so sweet
