The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is connecting with the kids in a meaningful way. Being a kid is tough. There’s a lot of feelings and words that are hard to convey when you’re still learning what each of them means. It’s about knowing how to handle the hard days and teach them life lessons and skills they can take away after you’re gone.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with special needs children years ago while in primary school for course credit, but haven’t babysat for any special needs children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment to tell is when the little girl I sat for made me pretend to be a fruit bat because she watched an episode of Bluey, and conveniently enough, only paid attention to that part. She had me eating blueberries hanging upside down from the back of their couch and to this day I will never live that moment down.
