A little bit about me

Hello families! I am Latosha Weatherspoon, I believe in Jesus! I am a female who loves working with children of all ages. I have been working as a nanny for under a year. I can assist families in establishing goals for their kids together, I am shy but love to make people laugh! Laughter is good for the soul! You must have a heart, love, and patience to work with children! I used to babysit my family's small kids when I was younger. After my children started school, I volunteered and substituted at a local headstart as a volunteer and paraprofessional. Then I was blessed to work in schools in East Feliciana Parish for 6 years until I became a special needs paraprofessional in 2014! I have worked at East Iberville Elementary and High as an interventionist paraprofessional/BMC/substitute teacher! I am now in Baker School District making a difference in other children's lives! This is my third year! I am a Child Specific Para to a child in a wheelchair.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked with children of all ages 0 months of high school. I used to babysit my family's small children! I learned how to change Pampers, the toilet. I received a diploma in Early Childhood from Louisiana Technical College in 2000. I started my first job at Harvest Daycare in Clinton, Louisiana. After taking care of my kids, I wanted to continue my journey working with children so I volunteered at Clinton Headstart. Then I got hired as a paraprofessional for the classroom. 4 years later I was hired as a substitute teacher for East Feliciana Parish School System for about 5 years until I was hired as a Special Educational Paraprofessional at Clinton Elementary in the pre-k non-Kat class/ resource/ inclusion/self-contained classes. Then I was transferred to East Feliciana Middle School thing the same thing there. I've been to East Iberville, now Baker! I love what I do!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love watching sports, playing sports, dancing, painting and just trying new things!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Teaching them new thing and learning new things from the kids! Just spending time with children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have assisted with kids that are physically, emotionally and mentally. I have worked in several school settings with kids in wheel chairs, autism, learning disabilities, nonverbal and other exceptionalities! I have changed diapers, skilled in tube feeding. I am will to learn new things!
