A little bit about me

I went to Disney College 9 years ago, worked at Disney & Universal, Worked overseas with YWAM in Australia and Papua New Guinea before returning to FL where I have worked for Kindercare in the toddler room the past few years. I would like to return to NC to be closer to family and continue my career in childcare. I have experience in structured daycare but would very much like to target working with a family with young children where I can stay with them for at least their formative years.

I love to sing (soloed and sung with a group at Cadogan Hall in London in my teens) and performed in numerous musical theater productions K-12. I enjoy singing to and with my kids now and am well versed in all Disney songs!!!!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Singing, singing, singing! Love theater and imaginative games. Not much of a gamer or overly athletic.....but willing to try!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Keeping a child safe and letting them know they are loved. I often have as many as 20+ kids in my room at a time which was certainly a challenge but parents trust me with their children and I take my responsibility seriously. I'm usually whipped at the end of the day but leave knowing I did my best for all of my kids and know that I return them to their parents safely and loved.

My experience with special needs children...

We have had children at Kindercare in my classes with special needs. Most have been suspected Autism although many are too young to be fully diagnosed. (2-3 year olds)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I played Santa Claus last year for our kids as we had no males available! Most didn't recognize me although a few wondered why "Miss Laura" was acting like Santa! I had a blast changing my voice to a deeper Ho Ho Ho and having the kids sit on my lap.
