A little bit about me

Hi!! I've work in child care starting at 11 with babysitting. From there I've worked in Daycare, Preschool, Head Start and moved into being a Nanny. I loved teacher a class but found I charished the one on one moments a little more. To be able to invest in a ypung person and watch them go is the most incredible event ever. I pride myself in great communication skills, education skills and outdoor activities. Helping out parents where and when it is needed. Because it is always nice to have an extra pair of hands around. Plus parents need to be able to relax. I go above and beyond to help that happen. Date nights are included. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In my teenage years, I always had the "help" gene. I enjoyed helping others. Early on, I had opportunities to help families both on the Nanny side and the Elderly side. It was always a very fulfilling experience. Since then, I have had the privilege of being a Nanny for many different families, working as a Care Giver for Home Health Companies, and have served as a lead Teacher for children at numerous Preschools. It has been fun seeing so many kids grow up and meeting great families. One of the things I enjoy the most about being a Nanny is making sure to provide opportunities for kids to learn with hands-on events ( trips to the park, a day at the zoo, library time, and arts and crafts ). I'm looking forward to working with the next family in need.

I have worked with autistic children ranging from severe non verbal to slightly impacted from the disorder.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I enjoy working with families that encourage children to experience life outside of the home ( zoo, libraries, arts and crafts at the museum, planting a small plant/garden, enrichment activities, and using everyday experiences as learning opportunities. It is also nice when there is clear and open communication regarding expectations and desires between myself and the parents. I want to do for them what they need, not just what I may think. Collaboration and trust is important.
