Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I helped my mom teach a life skills class at the lical high school about 28 years ago! I raised two well mannered ,compassionate , loving, intelligent, free thinking , conscientious and all around wonderful individuals ! Who are now both very productive members of society, one is a lineman, the other works for the city of Post Falls as a code enforcement officer in the animal control division.
Additionally; i have been the care provider to newborns, toddlers etc. since i was 8-9 years old,( church nursery) I have always loved being able to care for babies especially, and toddlers. All ages really (babies up to 3-4 years is my preference) i love holding and playing and reading with the” littlest littles” best as i don’t keep up as well with the older children anymore!🤪i amalso grandmother to an 18 month old boy whom i adore but don’t see near as often as i’d like! I am a baby whisperer in need of baby time!🥰
I have never had ANY child in my care get any injury but from normal play!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts and crafts- painting, sewing, reading, coloring, riding bikes, cooking, playing a wide variety of games, from: peek-a-boo, to hide and seek, “school” (which was a favorite with my younger siblings growing up, as well as with my own children) memory, i spy, go fish -etc. definitely swimming, any water play really! taking walks, and cuddle/quiet/movie/nap time , building forts, conversations about everything!.I”i just love watching them grasp a concept, or see/taste /smell .. generally experience something for the first time, interacting with littlest littles is definitely my idea of a fantastic day! 🥰
The most important part about being a nanny...
To genuinely CARE. To be the “substitute parent” show the littles they can trust you, kids need to know you will protect and care for them, not just food and diapers, but kiss the ouches, rock and sing them to sleep, reassure them that everything is going to be ok … always! And then making sure it is! 😁Also to keep boundaries when they push, MEAN what you say to a child, LISTEN to their concerns/thoughts-feelings etc.. show them how much they matter, keep their fears and worries as non existent as possible….. for absolutely as long as possible! Show the littles they are priority #1, they MATTER- you CARE.
