More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve had a little over a year working for Primrose Preschool, I’ve been paid to keep kids in my family, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc. I have experience nannying for my previous neighbors, and I have 3 of my own children I’ve raised.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Puzzles, shapes/colors, educational games for age appropriate kids on electronics, hide & seek, tag, reading game with introduction into words & sounding of words, singing while learning games, cleaning while singing, helps kids have accountability for their messes, and teaches them to be excited about cleaning up after themselves after play. I enjoy lots of games, and I enjoy learning more always to play.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Connecting and making a bond/connection with the child/children. That’s a very special thing for me. I appreciate when they give me their trust & affection because I always try to give each child I take care of, all my energy & all my trust as well. A child might not like you because they don’t know you in the beginning, but they all eventually come around, and trust that they’ll be safe with you. I love to read them books, and getting excited with them while we play games. I love to feed them & take care of them. I really enjoy the relationship I build with the parents also. I want my atmosphere with my child/children & parents to feel like I’m with family. Everyone I have sat for, long term or short term, I’ve had continuous positive good relationships with & maintain.
My experience with special needs children...
I have some autistic kids in my family that I’ve cared for. While in high school, I was in a program to leave school & go to the Elementary school to help with the special needs kids in those classes. I had to do extensive research for Asperger's, and other type of Autism while doing that. I was very drawn to those kids. My family’s involved with ABA Therapy, and I’m also interested in completing some certifications for that also. I have above average experience with children with needs. I love them, any kid with special needs is so sweet & just wants to learn & smile
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making Christmas cookies & decorating them for everyone. I had been babysitting 2 other children a couple of years ago, at my home. My daughter & the other kids dumped flour all over the kitchen floor & were walking around playing in it! It was everywhere! I’m not completely sure that I ever got it ALL out of the kitchen ever. Lol. They treated it like it was sand/snow.. throwing it everywhere, walking all in it, tracking it all over my house & walls & furniture! I was overwhelmed with the mess, but they all looked so cute & they were laughing & giggling at the top of their lungs the whole time. It was a very messy, but very happy/funny moment
