A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Lauren McKinlay, and I want to work with you! I am great with kids, and find a lot of fulfillment in watching/helping them learn and grow. Developing relationships with one another, and thrive in social situations from a young age! I’m happy to run errands, and help out with other needs for your family.

I am personally trying to make a shift in my life and where I want to go. A pivotal role in that is a change in my job! I have been working as a personal banker and teller/backup FSR for about 18 months. I served a 18 month mission for my church from July 2022 to November 2023. I have learned a lot about hard work and accountability through these two experiences.

I will be starting online classes soon, and may need to do some homework while working if it’s possible.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a peer tutor for multiple years in high school, and loved it. I have an older brother with autism who is very low functioning. He is my older brother, however I have had to take of the role as care taker multiple times. Nothing makes me happier than seeing him thrive, and learn.

I used to care for 5 children 3 days a week in high school for about 4 years. Ages ranged from 2-14 years old. This involved carpooling to piano, dance, basketball, golf, and other events/practices for the kids weekly. Helping meal prep, getting kids ready for the day, etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I grew up crafting a ton with my mom which I think brought out a huge creative side of me. Either outside/inside (depending on weather). Painting, creating decor, making bracelets, coloring, etc. Hide and go seek is another huge one, just dance on the Wii to keep kids moving, helping around the house, but making it fun with rewarding games, etc!

For outside activities, something with water is always fun, jumping on trampolines, chalk, bikes/scooters, going on picnics to get outside.
