More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have babysat my five siblings since the age of ten! I have lots of experience with all ages and special needs. I have experience as a lifeguard/swim instructor at Lifetime and was a gymnastics coach throughout high school and early college (coaching a team of young girls). I have volunteered for many church camps and VBS's after being impacted by the same camps as a child. Becoming a speech pathologist highlights my passion for caring for children and I have gained a lot of clinical experience through that as well after completing many observation hours and hands on practice. I have also nannied for a few families now that have become like family to me!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time outdoors when the weather permits as that is what I loved to do as a child - run the neighborhood and play with friends! I also like to watch movies, color, and find fun activities and games that promote learning and speech ;)
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the kids are safe and their needs are met! Having fun and keeping the kids engaged is a huge part too!
My experience with special needs children...
I have a little sister (now 13) with a congenital heart defect, tetralogy of Fallot, lung failure, etc. I learned from a young age how to manage G-tubes, oxygen, and giving medication. I am CPR/Lifeguard certified and a certified medical assistant - not currently in practice but I think well equipped to take care of a child with special needs!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had a family I was nannying with a foster child, timid and shy. He did not want his foster parents (at the time, he is now adopted by them!!) to leave him with me but I ended up breaking through his shell and we became best friends!
