A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Lauren, and I’m currently a student in Pepperdine’s Master’s program for Marriage and Family Therapy. I’m looking for a part-time position with a family starting at the end of May through August — I’m also open to babysitting opportunities and am very flexible with hours!

I have my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child Development, and over 5 years of experience working with children of all ages — from infants and toddlers to teenagers. I’ve worked long-term with three families, am CPR certified, and have a strong background in child development, which helps me choose age-appropriate activities and techniques for kids.

I also currently work as a trainee therapist at a charter school, so I spend a lot of time with kiddos and really know the ropes when it comes to connecting with and supporting children. I’m outgoing, dependable, and truly love building meaningful relationships with the families I work with!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently a trainee in my graduate program, completing my fieldwork at River Oaks Academy, a charter school where I support students’ academic and emotional development! During my undergraduate at ASU, I gained early childhood experience working at the on-campus daycare. I also worked at Kiva Elementary in Scottsdale, Arizona, and held a position at Paradigm Treatment Center, a residential mental health facility for adolescents ages 12–17. Throughout college and beyond, I also worked as a nanny for several families, providing long-term care!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to read, color, spend time outside in the sun, play games, swim, paint, and much more! I am comfortable with driving and taking kiddos to the zoo, aquarium, or anything outdoors!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being very aware and cautious of keeping your children safe and comfortable, but also being active and playful with them as well. Being a present caregiver is very important, I love being part of a family that makes me feel like family too. In my experience, when the children see me treated with kindness by the parents, it helps them build a strong and trust-worthy bond with the caregiver.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The family I spent three years nannying for calls me "Lala" so every time I'd come to the house they would run and attack me screaming, "LALA!!". Or most recently helping teach two kids ages 1 and 3 how to swim!
