is keeping the child safe first of all, nurturing and loving them while their parent isn't available, and engaging with them to help them develop in the best ways they can!
My experience with special needs children...
I have a neurodivergent sister who I helped raise, and while her issues are not as difficult as other peoples, I feel that I have good experience with finding methods that work best for individual children.
