I haven't nannied for any special needs children, but my cousin was diagnosed with Aspergers at a young age. It has made me very understanding and patient when working with special needs people.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was watching one of my girls and I had been teaching her some basic sign language. I hadn't thought anything of it and didn't expect her to remember most of the signs. One day, I was watching her and she began signing while talking to me. I was so proud of her and realized that I can make even a little impact on any child I come in contact with.
