The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the kids are comfortable with you and having established a high level of trust.
My experience with special needs children...
At my high school, I had a coach who worked with the special needs children and I used to love going in there. Sometimes I'd be asked if I could come on their little field trips to our stadium or indoor facility where we bonded by playing games that was only comfortable to them or initiated by them. The last thing we need is for them not to feel comfortable with what we're doing such as a game of freeze tag, throwing a football or playing catch with a plush dodgeball.
