A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Laylonni, I am 19 years old, and I am a full-time college student. I will be moving my class to online by the end of this year to switch to a full-time worker. A little bit more about me is I love working with kids and taking care of people. I currently work as a DSP at Wendell Foster where I take care of residents who have disabilities. I am CPR certified, First Aid certified, and know how to do first aid on animals. I have excellent experience with kids as when I was in middle school, I would tutor kids and babysit for a family every week. I love watching movies, reading, collecting candles and playing with my dog, Yoongi, and my cat, Rue. In my future, I wish to work more with kids in teaching them languages as it has been proven to strengthen the minds of the kids when starting at a young age.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During my middle school times I would sometimes stay after school to tutor children and during the summer I would baby sit 2 kids, a 13 month and 4-year-old boy. After graduating high school, I pursued a career at Wendell Foster where I care for people with disabilities that included, feeding them, bathing, putting them to bed, playing activates, cleaning their surroundings and giving them a person they love to see walk through their doors everyday.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to go to parks and playing. Along with going outside in nature to reconnect with nature and have less screen time. I also love watching movies and playing their favorite games. As an older sister myself to a 4-year-old boy, I have in life experience. I know how much energy they can have and how to let it all out just in time for nap time or for bedtime.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Letting the children know they will be protected and cared for. Along with them having a friend to talk to who can help them with anything. Someone who knows will be there for a certain day and they feel excited. Some kids feel frustrated when they need a babysitter as they feel they are old enough. So, I want them to think of me as someone who is there to help them with anything, schoolwork, social lives, and more. I want them to know me as a person, not just a stranger who watches them every now and then.

My experience with special needs children...

I currently work part time at Wendell Foster whose age ranges from 12 years old to 60. Though they may not be as young. Some of their mindsets are set to be much younger. Though, I also have a 4-year-old brother who has a disability, and I cared for him as well when his parents had to attend to work.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is the excitement I see when they know I will be showing up. Or when they think of me and draw me a little picture or want me to go places with them, showing that they trust me and rely on me.
