Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a swim instructor for three years and taught a variety of different people! I taught almost every day and would have interactive planned swim lessons to make the kids have something to look forward to each lesson. One thing I made sure of was that each child got something from the experience, and left with water safety knowledge. I taught hundreds of kids and they still always make sure to say hi when I see them in town. : )
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy drawing and reading silly books with kids! I also like having the kids be interactive in getting their chores done, whether that's dancing while you do it or blasting some paw patrol music.
My experience with special needs children...
My mother was a special needs teacher for 10 years and I was a constant volunteer in her class. I also planned unique lessons for special needs children in my swim classes that they could thrive in. I even have made my own picture and communication boards for my students!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My last kids I nanny'd for and I would have a movie day on Friday after they finished their homework. When the boys got to choose a movie they really loved and thought was hilarious, they were sharing something personal with me. It became a small tradition in the time I nanny'd for them and it was the small experiences like that, that made me wanna nanny more.
