A little bit about me

Hi my name is Leanna, I am a 35 year old mother of 2 boys with 22 years of Child care experience just looking to get back to work and add income to the household. I started babysitting at the Age of 13 and then upgraded to Nannying at the age of 19 when I have an Associates in Child Development and an Associates in Psychology, both obtained at the College of DuPage.

I have expertise in dealing with certain Neurodivergent Diagnosis. Particularly Autism (Non Verbal and Verbal), ADHD and ODD. I am CPR and First Aid certified and understand how to administer an Epi Pen. Im perfectly okay with housework/cooking.

I would like to be very clear on how i work I am a Gentle but Firm Nanny.

I am looking for a long term position (my recent lasted 5 years) my rate is on a scale based on the amount of children and goes from 20/hour(for one child $25 for newborns) to $40/hour (For 4 children which is my limit)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started babysitting at 13 and graduated to Nannying at 19 when I moved from Massachusettes to Illinois. I spent a few years on care.com before I started working for College Nannies and Sitters in my 20s. I was recruited from there by multiple familes that I remained with long term.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am extremely art based and love creativity and try my best to incorporate that into my job. Music, drawing. Writing. Dancing, singing, acting etc.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with Autism (verbal and non verbal), Down syndrome, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and mental health issues like Depression, anxiety, bipolar etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Were the ones that involved the kids outside of work. Being invited to birthdays, concerts, rehersals, graduations, getting to see them grow and be there for important moments as much as i was everyday life. The kids i work with i treat like my own and being accepted as part of the family for alot of them was the most special part
